English as a Second Language

The English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are available to non-native English speakers whose English proficiency is still developing. The courses offer 5 or 10 hours per scholastic week of English language support. The ESL program exists to enable students to achieve proficiency in English in order to excel in their classes, everyday life, and other situations that require English interaction, so that they might ultimately have more avenues through which to serve and glorify God.

LCA’s ESL classes are designed to help students learn English through intensive, focused English training in a specialized classroom. In conjunction with the Liberty Christian Academy’s overall mission to realize students’ potential and glorify God in all aspects of life, the program is dedicated to developing students’ English proficiency in order to communicate in social settings, achieve academically, and use English appropriately. This is accomplished with a focus on teaching the following:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Active listening skills
  • Speaking and conversation skills
  • Pronunciation
  • Culture
