Academic Support Programs

Our Purpose

The Academic Support Programs at Liberty Christian Academy seek to assist students who struggle academically by offering services based on evaluation of students’ individual needs. Communication and collaboration among the Academic Support Programs teachers, classroom teachers, parents, and students is a vital aspect of our programs.

Services

Academic Support Plans (Grades K-12)
Academic Support Plans are individual plans which outline specific classroom and resource room accommodations. The plans are based on academic and educational supports that LCA offers; they are not intended to duplicate a student’s public school IEP or Section 504 plan.

Academic Support Resource Classes (Grades K-12)
Resource classes have been established for students who participate fully in LCA’s general education curriculum. The classes provide assistance for students who need additional instruction or educational supports. High school students receive credit for resource class.

Who is Eligible for an Academic Support Plan/Enrollment in Resource Class?
Students are required to have a full and current (within the last three years) educational and/or cognitive evaluation that identifies an educational deficit adversely affecting his or her success in the regular classroom in order to be eligible for an Academic Support Plan, as well as for enrollment in resource class.

New students applying for admission to LCA should bring all information related to an IEP, 504 plan, recommendation for evaluation, or evaluations currently underway. For students already enrolled in LCA, a designated committee (in elementary, middle, or high school) will participate in this process as the need arises.
