WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO DONATE TO THE LCA SECURITY INITIATIVE?
As you know, LCA is in the process of installing a new security intrusion system. While the system will make our campus much more secure, it is also a costly process. We have been given nearly $10,000 in donations for the system and are trying to raise an additional $30,000. If you are willing and able to help us financially in this effort, please contact Jessica Tucker at jrtucker@liberty.edu.
THE LCA GOLF TOURNAMENT …A GREAT SUCCESS!
Over 100 golfers joined us at London Downs for our annual golf tournament. The food was great, the weather was beautiful, and the fellowship was incredible. In addition, LCA raised over $10,000 for our new security system! Thank you to all who participated!

The LCA boys Tennis Team finished their season this week with the best record in school history including wins over VES and Eastern Mennonite (for the first time). LCA ORCHESTRA PLAYS FOR VIRGINIA NATURALIZATION CEREMONY IN RED HILL!
The LCA Orchestra of Praise provided patriotic music for the Virginia Naturalization Ceremony in Red Hill, VA (Patrick Henry’s home place). What an honor for our students to be part of the American citizenship process of 40 new citizens from 20 different countries!
SENIORS MEET WITH SENATOR STEVE NEWMAN
On Wednesday, May 1, LCA Government teachers (Mrs. Bixler and Mr. Hudson) accompanied seniors Nate Hess, Micah Brickhill, Lewis Williams, Sierra Tilley, Sam Laughman, and Andrew Atkinson to meet with Senator Steve Newman. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of Virginia adopting more stringent abortion laws. Prior to the meeting, the students conducted independent research on the ethical, legal, and medical arguments for a legislative plan they had crafted. Senator Newman stated that he was very impressed with the professionalism, eloquence and legal understanding shown by the seniors. After hearing the plan, Senator Newman advised a course of action that our students are tenaciously putting into place. We are extremely proud of this group of seniors!
LIBRARY BOOKS DUE
All LCA library books must be returned to the Lower and Upper School libraries by Tuesday, May 14. All overdue fines and printer fees must also be paid by May 14.
DON’T FORGET YOUR BOX TOPS! If you’ve been collecting Box Tops, please don’t forget to turn them in to the LCA library before the end of the school year. Also, please continue to save them over the summer and turn them in when school starts in the fall. For the 2012-2013 school year, we surpassed our goal! The earnings help purchase new library books and support our Accelerated Reader reward program.
