2020-21 School Year Update from Head of Schools

Bulldog Nation,

We understand and share your concerns regarding the upcoming school year.

We are excited for all students to begin the school year with in-class instruction for five full days each week. The start of school has been adjusted to Wednesday, August 26.

Safety protocols will include the following:

  • Face masks will be strongly encouraged, but will be required where social distancing is not possible
  • Daily health screenings, including temperature checks, will be conducted when students, faculty, and staff enter the building
  • Classes have been rearranged to allow for appropriate social distancing
  • Thomas Road Baptist Church has graciously allowed the use of their facilities to provide additional classrooms in order to meet social distancing standards
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be provided throughout the building
  • Signage throughout the building will remind and encourage students to practice proper hygiene
  • Students will eat in classrooms due to social distancing requirement (more information will follow regarding lunches)
  • Sanitizing of the building and extra cleaning measures have been established
  • New drop-off and pick-up procedures will be communicated closer to the start of school in order to limit the number of people in the building
  • Transportation will follow social distancing guidelines

LCA is committed to partnering with parents and providing a safe learning environment for Bulldog Nation. Let us assure you that we will do everything within our power to keep your children safe. We will communicate additional details in the coming days. Your prayers are appreciated as we navigate this changing landscape.

Go Bulldogs!

LCA made the seamless transition to distance learning through the LCA DLP this past spring. Because of this, LCA is prepared in the event of needing to transition to or from residential learning into distance learning.

LCA is also committed to making it better, which is why our parents, students and teachers were surveyed weekly throughout the course of the LCA DLP. Equipped with the data from these surveys regarding the LCA DLP, Team LCA is continuing to improve the LCA Distance Learning Plan in case it is needed at any point in the the 2020-21 school year.

Despite the ongoing impact of COVID-19, there is still a need for us to provide a quality education to our students. LCA’s DLP is designed for flexibility so we ensure that there is continuity in Christian education for our students along with development of the whole child, even if it can’t be in-person.

No matter what the future holds, LCA is prepared and has a plan.
